Common and Proper Nouns 普通名词和专有名词

A common noun is the common name shared by a group of things, people, animals or places.
普通名词指同类的东西、人、动物或地方共同的名称。
Example: book, firefighter, school, table, tiger, playground, doctor, bird, town.

A proper noun is the specific name given to a particular thing, person, animal or place.
专有名词指某个东西、人、动物或地方专有的名称。
Example: Colgate, Tan Beng Sim, Toyota, New York, Siva

Underline the common nouns and circle the proper nouns.

1 Ms Alisha is a hard-working nurse. She works in a hospital in Kota Bahru.
2 Books on Sang Kancil are available is all bookshops.
3 My father sold his old Proton Wira and bought a new Perodua Myvi.
4 Johor Bahru is the capital city of Johor. It is situated near Singapore.
5 Puan Rahaizat bought some fish, meat, vegetables and eggs at the market.
